The rear sight on the G44 appeared to be the same adjustable sight that came factory on my Gen 4 G34s and G41s. I dug out on original rear. The rear sight on the G44 is narrower by .188”. The one for the G34 does not exceed the slide width on the G44. They using the slimline (42/43/43x/48) width spec on this gun for some reason.

My gun with aftermarket sights is a bit more finicky with Standard Velocity ammo compared to the one with stock sights. It may not be the sights, it may be the gun.
I’m going to order a different rear that is lighter and see what happens. Likely I’ll put a stock set back on it to try with marginal ammo to see the difference, before putting a final aftermarket sight back on. My sight combo is 1/3 oz heavier (.366oz) than the stock sights. The entire slide weights are 4.7 oz stock and 5.05 oz. not a lot of total difference. The difference is primarily in the rear.
After weighing all of the above, I changed the from sight on my stock gun to an Ameriglo ProDot and blacked the stock rear like we did with Pstmstr’s gun yesterday. It appears to be a really good inexpensive change that my eyes pick up much faster.

"IF" it's going to live up to Glock standards, it had better run any SV and up.. Regardless of the minor sight weight difference.. I wonder if the polymer to metal contact is creating a friction issue.. Not "yet" owning one I can only ponder and with the experienced characters in the thread I should be able to safely assume that they are properly lubed..

Not a Glock guy...but with how popular they are, and how popular RMR's and Fastfires and such are, its crazy to me to think changing the basic sights out would cause an issue and they did nothing to accomodate putting a "modern" optic on it like EVERYBODY seems to be doing.

On the video that someone posted on here where the guy went to the Glock manufacturing and testing sight it was said they had to go with the plastic sights to keep the weight down. Just sayin.....also I'll leave this here from Palmetto State Armory that most everyone knows but it is the description from Glock including what is said about ammo.

Marketing to engineering:

I want you to build a .22 pistol with a full reciprocating slide. It has to run suppressed and non-suppressed with any suppressor on the market. Yes, even that big a$$ Silencerco Hybrid, because you know they will try it. It should also run 100% with every .22 LR ammo on the market. Yes, High velocity. Yes, standard velocity. Yes, Subsonic. Yes, that cheap crap ammo they sell in 5 gallon buckets, because you know they will expect the ammo to be perfect and it will be the find fault. Ohh, and you must be able to mount every Red Dot on the market on it and it still run. Yes, an Eotech is a red dot.

engineering, WTH are you going? You can’t just walk out like that.
