Man you guys have me scared to death right now
There is an App called "Skimmer Scanner" that will pick up any skimmer within 5 ft.
I use it regularly and have picked up two.
So the money comes straight from your checking account rather than getting a bill and having to pay it.
But yes, there are some increased risk to debit cards.
Can someone explain to me why anyone would use a debit card over a credit card?
Interchange fees aren't typically charged on debit card purchases. Some people might prefer the retailer get to keep more of the purchase price instead of supporting the big credit companies, especially when shopping at small businesses. They could also pay cash but weighing convenience vs benefits is a personal choice. Can someone explain to me why anyone would use a debit card over a credit card? I can think of many reasons to NOT use a debit card (see this thread).
