EVERYTHING I've seen, has stated HF red was good, but discontinued. Other colors were crap.

I've found a method that gives awesome results using the HF black powder.

I love using powder coated bullets. I have always bought them already coated. I was gathering components to PC my own and never got the powder. End of the HF red, but me on back burner.

Finally, bought some HF black and started playing. A bit different method than anything I've seen posted.

1. Preheat oven to 200°
2. Put bullets in oven for 15 minutes.
3. Put powder in tumbler.
4. Move hot bullets from oven directly into tumbler.
5. Slow tumble for 2 hours.
6. Heat oven to 400°
7. Place bullets in oven for 10 minutes
8. Move bullets from oven, directly into water.
9. Repeat steps 1-8

Let bullets dry and they are ready to load.

Tested the completed process by placing bullet on an anvil and hitting with 3# hammer.
Smashed bullet, PC did not peel, crack, chip or flake.
Test fired and barrell is clean.

A bit more time consuming, but it works GREAT.

DURN! They discontinued the red?!?!? Didn't know that. It looks like all they have now is white and black. BUMMER! I have heard that some of the blacks contain abrasives that you don't wanna' be running through your barrel. IDK.

White works pretty good.
But I think the powder is a little bit heavier than the red or black.

But that is going to suck if I cant get any more of the red from HF.

Well, there is always Eastwood. Who else sells powder coating supplies? I don't need any more materials right now, but I occasionally check Eastwood's web site just for sales.

There are a bunch of suppliers out there. I had no idea how many there were. A little google search turned up a bunch to choose from. Prismatic is another one I had heard of, but never tried. I started with the HF red because it was readily available and cheap. Then, a fellow here in town told me they were using Eastwood powders, so I bought a few of theirs to try. I bought a white, light blue and a 'bronze.' I think the bronze was kinda' finicky, but the others worked OK as I recall. Haven't done much with them, and it's been quite a while since I experimented with them at all.

My mom has a job for me,
She wants me to check on glow in the dark powder cause she has something that she wants to glow in the dark, & she wants me to powder coat it.
Anyone have experience with glow in the dark powder coating?

That might also be cool to have glow in the dark powder coated bullets.

I know there's some out there, but I've never tried it and never seen any reviews.
