I have Directvnow and have the 2nd from the top plan at $40. It’s a price I’ll never get back if I make any changes. It suits me for now as i can add Netflix if I want. Don’t have that but they are taking over with all the good shows.
Well it's been awhile and ATT bought DTV Now and they are pissing me off. They raised the my rate and took it upon themselves to add HBO to my plan along with an extra $15 a month. Hell, I can subscribe to it stand alone for that so they have ZERO discount built in. My bill is now $75 plus tax. And it is constantly telling me I have too many streams running when only one is. You only get two to begin with but you can add one for $5 a month. 3 is all you get period which is ridiculous.

I'm going to jump to SlingTV or YoutubeTV as soon as I make up my mind. Thinks it's going to be Youtube. I can add Netflix and still be paying a little less.

SlingTV has a 2 room special for $149 if you prepay for 3 months. For the $149 you get an AirTV2, two AirTV Minis and an OTA Mohu like antenna. The AirTV2 box looks cool so it's tempting. It connects to the OTA antenna and then you can stream live local channels to any device over your wifi router. Even if you leave the house, you can supposedly watch it on your phone! It also integrates it all into the guide interface so no switching inputs and it's all in one place. That would be great for my mom as she has a hard time figuring out how to watch stuff. Cord cutting isn't for geriatrics! Sling also comes somewhat close to what I've wanted for years. They have some channels that you can add individually for $3 and certain packages of them for $5. Always hated paying $15 a month for a set of channels when I only wanted one of them.

Youtube TV provides all the local channels too, so they do essentially the same thing as far as showing it all in one place without the hardware.

I got rid of Cable, now do Hulu+, Disney, and ESPN +. Works best for the family. Don't miss cable at all.

I waste a LOT of time on the internet, I go to email and check that then I go to Craigslsit, Ebay or Amazon. Then I go back to another email account-then go back tot he other email account. I've gained wright one rthe months and ned to be more active unless I want to leave this live earlier than planned. I have unlimited data on my cellphone so if Cox goes up, I'll save over $100 per month and I can buy whatever I need or check my bank account on the cellphone.
Seems like the right thing to do if they raise rates. And I can cast movies or nearly anything I want from the cell phone to the TV.

Do either YouTubeTV or SlingTV have dvr feature? Also, are their still commercials in all of the shows you watch through either of them.

I keep wanting to cut cable, but I swear I always end up feeling like a mathematically challenged Neanderthal when I start looking at the options outside of using Cox. Unfortunately, I'm a seriously boring person, so I spend way too much time watching TV, so I need a large variety of channels (or at least I think I do. :-) ). One of the things I hate the most about streaming is that it seems that I can't get away from commercials, which is why I want the dvr feature. That being said, over $100/month being shelled out to Cox for cable alone is really starting to tweak me.

Yes and yes. If you're not into sports, I was going to go with Philo. It was all of the channels I watched for $20/month. My parents went to YouTube TV so they could keep their locals.
