After the last ENS, I went back up and dropped my CZ 455 off at Big Boys and had them hook me up with a Vortex Crossfire II in 2-7 X 32 with the V-Plex reticle (simple, fine cross hairs) on top of medium BKL rings. It just does clear the rear sight, without me having to remove it, and I have good clearance for the bolt handle. I can get a decent cheek weld with this set up, where I would have had to go with some pretty high rings or use a dovetail-to-Weaver adapter to get it up high enough to be able to put a larger scope with a larger objective on it. I did look real hard at the Nikon 3-9 X 40 though. But if I'd done that, I would also have had to add a cheek pad or riser to get my eyeball up high enough to look through the scope. Plus, I really don't wanna cover up that purty wood grain. This rifle has that European, or hog back stock, which droops down a bit as compared to an American stock. Anyway, I like this Vortex scope on this CZ; it is clear as can be and is more than enough for me and my little .22 rifle. Oh, and that is a genuine Czech military-style (read: cheap canvas webbing with leather 1" wide ends ) sling made by CZ on it too. Here's the obligatory pics:
