Don't know if he was a veteran or not, but Fox News is reporting:

"...In lieu of flowers, Conrad’s family is requesting donations to the Wounded Warrior Project and The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation
Conrad is survived by eight children and 18 grandchildren."

Also, Fox says:
"Bob Thomas, a long-time and now deceased staffer of the Associated Press, was the principal writer of this obituary."

I'm guessing the AP had most of Robert Conrad's obituary already written by an employee who has also passed away.

Here, but occasionally There.
Wikipedia made no mention of him serving in the military, however he was born in 1935, so he was too young to serve in WWII and Korea. I also suspect that he was too old at the time or had some other kind of draft deferment to keep him from serving during the Vietnam era.

At any rate, he did a lot more in television than he did in movies.

RIP.

As I was growing up I liked the Wild Wild West. I always wondered why every episode was titled “The Night of .........”.

He played good parts in Baa Baa Black Sheep and the TV miniseries Centennial.

Many years ago, Greg "Pappy" Boyinton who was played by Robert Conrad was attending the Reno air show. He had a booth selling his book "Baa Baa Black Sheep." Next to his booth was Masajiro Kawato, the Japanese pilot who shot him down selling his book "Bye Bye Black Sheep." You can still get those books on Amazon.
