You might also look into the Dan Wesson Valor Limited with the case hardened frame and blued slide. It should be at least a grand cheaper.

For Turnbull money, I'd go with a Nighthawk instead. I doubt the NHC pistols are your cup of tea though.

That sure is a beauty. Do you have any pictures of your Ruger 1911? What do you think of it? I’ve been pondering over getting one. I only have one 1911 and it’s an older auto ordinance. A cheapie but still fun

Since my post you quoted Seadog I've added a stainless 5" S & W 'E' Series 1911 to the group......the Ruger is a excellent gun but I can't say that I like one more than the other.

If you end up purchasing the Ruger SR1911 I'd be willing to bet that you'll like it.
