I found a mount that sounds like what I want with good reviews but I don't know if I can make myself spend $100 on a mount for a $110 scope.

Another vote here for the Burris PEPR mount with the QD latches. I've had mine for probably 4 or 5 years now and it has seen a fair amount of on and off. Nothing crazy but it seems to return to Zero fairly well.
If you can swing American Defense money then definitely go ADM. That will be head n shoulders above the Burris PEPR but for the money the PEPR is a solid choice as its significantly cheaper than the ADM mounts.

I'd stay away from anything that has inserts like that one has inside the actual main body. Just one more thing to slip/wear/go wrong.
