I read about the catch can deal.. that sounds like a a good thing.
My son worked at a place that rebuilds injectors and said the direct injection injectors get very dirty very fast.
He feels it is a terrible idea.
I still Love my Carburetors.

Yeah, it's not a turbo, but it is 11.5:1 compression with a max of 7,200 rpm. With the tune I really don't want to take any chances on early engine issues as I want this truck to last a LONG time! LOL

LOL Update: I guess my catch can idea wasn't bad, but GM took care of it with the '17 and up LGZ engine so I don't have to worry about it!

My thinking.. The small ecoboosts make plenty of power and the cost of entry is oddly way less then an LS or Coyote. Lower cost is also why I thought I'd consider a HEMI. I think I could do a super low mileage engine/tranny/wiring,ECU combo of either for low $4K That is really cheap. For all the HEMI hate that seems to go around I have had really good luck with the one on my 14 and there seem to be an absolute ton of them on the street. I don't want to win a drag race and I care less about looking cool.

There is a guy on Garagejournal that has done several eco transplants into F100's. He's found a number of totaled F150's and has done everything from just the drive train, to setting the cab and bed on a late model chassis. The biggest challenge has been the electrics although I think that industry has advanced since he originally started. His current project is the HO 3.5(Raptor) Eco in an F100.

Pretty cool.

Electronics is the part that scares me the least and almost sounds like the most fun.

As to the oil..... wouldn't a can of B&G Extreme Pressure Lubricant help out most oils mentioned?
Probably, but I hate adding anything to engine oil. Reason being you just have no way of knowing if it will affect the additive(s) that are already in there. It may solve one problem and create a different one.

What's your thoughts on Lucas oil stabilizer?

You can do a search on the lucas stuff.
Search Lucas oil stabilizer and foaming. True or not I just get oil today that does not need any additives.
read all of this

If you find something that works for you and your engine then go ahead and use it.
I found what works for me and hope they do not change the stuff.
