I have been running my 10mm at max load with PC 200 grain bullets and have had zero issues. I had to read a lot of data on the 10mm forums before I gave it a try with longshot powder but it works well. I have not looked into other calibers or powders as of yet but it may be something to study when running PC bullets. Again I worked up to the max load to make sure there were no issues and did it again when I converted the 45acp to 10mm. (both Glocks with factory 10mm barrels)

That long shot powder can reach some ridiculous velocities.
Steel cased 45acp 230 gr can be sent quite quickly in a strong gun.

Have not tried it in 45ACP but I am running it in 147 grain 9mm as well. It runs almost 160 FPS faster than HP38 at max and pressure is 500psi lower!!

OK, you guys are gonna' make me take a look at Long Shot. I've never loaded any, but I'm gonna' have to check it out. You KNOW my reloading bench is already over-flowing!!!!!

You can get velocities with low pressure but I did not get the accuracy only bragging rights.
I now have favorite powders and Bullseye is one.
Red dot, HP38/231 and 2400 but I do not use it so much except full house loads in 357 mag.
For rifles IMR 4064., H4350 and H4895 H4895 is all I use in .223 for my accuracy hunt loads.

For quick filling .223 loads I use BLC-2.

I will say H4350 in 30-30 cases with cast bullets works really well.
Filled the case to the bottom of a 170gr gas checked Lee bullet expect only 1800fps.
I tried all kinds of powders in the 30-30 with cast.
2400, Varget which was very accurate, 3031, BLC-2, IMR 4064 Fun with 30-30's
I need to try some red dot in it..I use that in my 30-06 cast loads and for mouse fart loads in rifles and pistols.
Red Dot, Bullseye and IMR 4064 is what I use the most of.

Using Longshot in the 10mm the accuracy went down a little at 25 yards but I was loading for bear and pig and was still tearing up an 8 inch target so I went with power. 9mm I notice zero accuracy issues with the 147 gr PC truncated cone, running it max load for jacketed.

So doing this how much does this add to the diameter. I got a mold for my 30/30. 165gr flat nose I think. Would I need to under size them first then coat?

Depends on what powder coat is used .002" or more will be added.
I do not resize.. I cast them and then powder coat them and run them through a Lee push through sizer.
They push really easy through the sizer.
Even if they are .007" larger than the sizer.
I use a Lee classic cast iron single stage press

Nice ! I have a bullet mold for 45acp and 9mm and melting pot just have not gotten around to actually making bullets as of yet and the PC added thickness was one of my questions !
Already have the lee resizer so one less issue!!!

Good to know. I don’t cast yet but I have a 30/40 krag with a oversized bore thinking this might be something to try if I can’t get jacketed stuff to shoot decent
