I'm covered by medicare, A, B, and I think it's plan F that I pay for because we travel a lot and need the coverage if SHTF and can't find a VA where I'm 100% covered.
Both have their advantages and disadvantages. The VA offers the "Traveling Veteran Program" that will share medical info with a facility across the US with the Vets permission. It can be a VA facility or the Community Care program that President Trump is talking about that allows vets to access community care if they are a certain distance from a VA facility for health care treatment.
The community care is a nightmare for vets. Obama started one part of it, but the payments were never made or late to providers. Trump has tried to improve it, and he has had the providers get paid although long wait times are the norm.
Very long wait times.

Only thing I know and the wife says is correct is that we had A, B, D, and a supplement and still had copays and deductibles. Our meds were not any cheaper either in fact the Humana online pharmacy saves me a few hundred a year over Walmart. Plus almost $200 a year in free over the counter meds.

To be honest neither one of us has heard of F or G. I will tell her about G and maybe next year she can look into it. I will stay where I am until I am 65 and something better comes along. Frankly I still think we got a great deal this year.

I heard Congressman Mark Wayne Mullin on the radio yesterday talking about this very issue and he also stated that the Program has not worked as intended. He stated that even using the O/P civilian Care takes too long for the approval and appointments.[sometimes up to 90 days he stated] That is unacceptable and someone should fix it.

Here, but occasionally There.
Tell her to include N in her research.

This^^^

As mentioned earlier, my wife is on the "F" plan and I'm on the "N" plan. My "premium" is cheaper than hers, but I think I have a copay where she doesn't. Considering someone said the "F" was going away in the future, I suspect we'll get to do our research again later in the year.
