For gunsmithing get one of Brownells Magnabit sets, it is the way to go. I bought mine 36 years ago and and have used it hard. They have a number of specialty bit you can buy to augment the main set. I used mine every day for for five year when I was full time gunsmithing and continue use to this day doing custom and personal gunsmithing.

I got one of these:

Prolly not QUITE as good as a high quality torque wrench, but for as little as I will use it, it will get me in the ballpark.

<edit> I have 2 large torque wrenches I have used for barrel nut installation, but they don't go down to inch-meters, which is what most rings and my chassis seem to specify.
Yes it will get you in the ballpark, but be sure you put it to a zero setting after use. Torque Wrenches of any design require that to stay in calibration longer.

Hmmm something fishy about that story.
