Treasury Sec. Steve Mnuchin said Friday that the IRS is moving the tax filing deadline from April 15 to July 15.

Mnuchin made the announcement on Twitter, saying the move came at the direction of President Donald Trump.

"All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties," Mnuchin said.

As I read that, you still have to meet your tax man and mail (or efile) the return. They are only postponing the payment due date. Might want to ck deeper.
I got an email the other day from my CPA, and this is essentially what he expected. It sounded like he was anticipating in part based on what the announcement did NOT say, but his understanding seemed to be that you'd still need to file by 4/15, but would have until 7/15 to pay, as long as you owed less than a million, or were a corporation that owed less than 10 million
