Man I dunno what the deal is, but I just re-scanned our channels (we've gotten a total of 7 for years) and got 17 channels!

Has something passed that allowed stations to turn up the power, or am I getting "skip" while the clouds are just right?

Color me confused...

Some of these are actually watchable (one with Sesame Street, of course), the others are diplaying, but most have missing pixels & patchy sound.

My antenna is a 16-18" loop made from 1/4"copper tubing, and its top is about a foot below the ceiling. :D

I bought one of those antennas that Dennis was touting a while back, but it doesn't seem to help much yet.

Maybe I should take it outta the box and hook it up...

Well... that didn't last long. Nary a one works now. :D

But at least I now know there are probably 10 more or so channels accessable here with a better antenna (we're about 5 miles north of the TX/OK border).

Thanks guys.

I use one of those flat indoor antennas about the size of a sheet of paper. I get local news stations along with a bunch of crap channels but don't get OETA.

Someone from work offered me their antenna they no longer use that is in their attic.

Whenever they get around to taking it down I plan on mounting it on a pole outside because I don't have an attic. Hopefully that will make a big difference in what I can pick up.

I don't want an outdoor antenna any more. We're on a high spot here, and the last CB antenna I had (just above the roof peak) got struck by lightning and destroyed a stereo, a lamp, and started a fire in the living room floor.

I had disconnected the CB and the coax was lying in the floor. There's still a section of melted coax in the wall.
