Man, I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings.

.22 vs 9mm, .40, or .45acp being as good as another in self defense. How could you be serious?

I haven’t been in any shootouts. But, I have trained and studied several aspects of self defense to also include ballistics, wounds, and criminal mindset. Yes, a 22 is better than nothing. But, it is not as good as other proven service rounds.

You made a pretty bold statement. If you can’t take a counter point without making a personal attack, you need to look at the mirror at the real problem here.

No feelings hurt. I see folks all the time shooting guns and cant hit the broad side of a barn because they think larger rounds are better. If this were the case we would all be running around with a 44 mag or 500. There are a lot of folks women and men that cant stay on target so them having a larger round is pretty much worthless.

To your "You made a bold statement" point....I stated that is was an opinion, not a fact.

Have a good day

I personally have no problem with someone carrying a 22, if that's what they want. I've done it and am sure will do it again. Every time this time of topics come up, the first thing said is 'shot placement', and they are right. Shot placement is out the window in a stressful situation. Most people unless are going to miss the person much less make a 1 shot stop placement.
I can empty a 13 round 9mm mag, 8 round of 45acp in a group the size of a 50 cent piece at 8yds. Let me run in place for 1 minute to get my heart rate up and my group looks like a shotgun blast. FULL DISCLOSER: The running in place was when a I a young fit Marine, now 1 minute of running in place would give me a heart attach or make me throw up at the very least. (Ha I beat you to it Joel).
Several years ago I came across a magazine article, it said although a 22 will kill you, it's not a fight stopper. End of Story.

How many times has this been gone over? Almost everyone who's responded already knows this stuff. The question was about what .22LR round, the answer is the heaviest, fastest, RELIABLE round in a particular gun. I think we'll all agree that most of us would prefer to have a larger caliber , but we'd probably all also agree that CCI Something Or The Other is a good choice based on our experiences with it and it's known reliability in a wide variety of guns. It's also generally available and not too expensive. (Pre COVID-19 Panic Buying anyway).

I have 10+1 CCI 40 grain Mini-Mags in an M&P .22 Compact. Based on the fact that I've put hundreds of them down range through that gun with not one single ammo related issue, I'm comfortable with it, given the known limitations of the whole package.

I feel MUCH better with that than if I had Remington Golden Duds in the gun or the cheapest plinking rounds I found on sale at Atwoods, that's for sure.

Jeebus guys...

Text me to argue. I'm gonna go start piecing dinner together. Not in a hurry, but wanna eat early so I can go to bed early. I'm becoming emotionally attached to my pillow.
