@Cowcatcher and I was just talking about this. If they did an NICS+ and just billed you the $200 right there. They could make all the tax money they want. Production would increase, prices should drop after manufactures get up to speed. Right now your paying your FFL a 12 month storage fee built into each can. Heck even a 10 or 20 day waiting period. Which I understand none of this is constitutional. If they got rid of these asinine waits our ranges would be much safer for our hearing.

One would hope prices would drop. Buddy got back from a hunt in South Africa in January, said suppressors were on the shelf costing around $100 each. Buy them like a pack of gum as many as you want, and they are the same brands that are sold in the US for the most part.
I really want to get another can. 9mm and possibly 30 cal. I just don’t want to wait and spend the silly money dealers are charging. ( I know they are pricing according to supplier costs, and market demand). I kinda feel like if suppressors became more readily available the price may drop a smidge! NOW KEEP IN MIND, THIS IS JUST ONE MANS OPINION. I would definitely stock up on a can or three if they were easier to acquire.
Man I think simple economics is controlling the high price. A can is not as difficult to make as a gun. No moving parts. Just multiple pieces of machined Stainless, Aluminum or titanium. Materials and cost to manufacture isn't that significant. I would imagine if they could be bought without any background check or tax stamp. They would be like the cost of a good flashlight.
Shoot, suppressors shouldn’t even have a background check. They ought to be like buying a magazine, stock or part. It should be assumed you already have a firearm.
The first one I bought about 14 years ago took almost a year then. I was told by the dealer that it was because they were moving that branch to West Virginia in hopes of the sorry help they had would not move with them.
