I think AimSurplus had .380 ammo a day or two back. Geko brand I think $15/50.

But really y’all, we need to get using the words gouging and gougers. It makes us sound ignorant and like we want leftist price controls. Someone either has ammo that they are selling for X price or they don’t. Low supply and high demand= higher pricing. Econ101. Sorry you didn’t buy it at the lower end of the price chart.

part of the reason for price influctions and increases is this very reason : gougers - it happens because of that kind of thinking that its okay. when people start overpaying for bs they expect the standard cost and price for things to increase like that since people are willing and buying for those amounts those prices become the new standard.

hell i still remember when the wasrs and russian aks were under 4-500$ nothings changed besides imports are no longer coming in and that really only applies to collectors. if anything prices on those kinds of guns should go way down now there is so many domestic manufactures. but that isnt the case. seems like 700$ is the standard for a AKM rifle. funny how Ar-15s used to cost more but now they are cheaper. would have never imagined that 10 years ago. i cant think of any reason for the cost increase since better and newer technology and methods are available, and material and labor costs have went down as well. the only real reason for price increases on most gun related stuff is greed and stupidity on the buyers end feeding into the panic and scare of gooberment takin' yer guns and bans.

Price controls are brought on by the government.
These prices are brought on by gougers looking to profit from a crisis.
I bought 5200 rounds of 9mm when walmart closed out at half price or less. I would never sell any of it for more than I paid for it to my fellow firearms owners. Its for shooting, not for sale.
I don't buy anything with the intention of reselling it.
Firearms owners bring this shortage upon themselves by hoarding and gouging.

perfect example, just look at most major firearm dealers how many times do they say stupid stuff like last crate or last shipment of x guns ever, like sks's or mosin nagants, yet there is still a litteral crap ton of them always floating around everywhere. heck even firearm dealers who dont even deal in surplus firearms seem to be popping up with crates of surplus guns here and there lately. its a scarcity tactic and its a Farce.

I had someone go "Eyes Wide" when we were discussing ammo yesterday.
I gave an approximation of what I had
I explained that I tend to think of ammo in terms of "cases purchased" instead of "boxes purchased"
And I've been through these things before
I like the phrases "Buy it cheap and Stack it deep" and "BLOAT"

I took economics in college, and I do know of the law of supply and demand. In normal situations yes, low supply + high demand = price increase. But your argument is missing a few key details. The s/d curve as it affects price is not so simple, there are many other factors that play into it. For one, will the product still be produced? Is this item a luxury or necessity? For example: No one cries foul when a M16A1 pre-1986 rifle is sold for over $25k. There is a finite supply that is available for the average citizen to purchase and that supply dwindles for each one the ATF destroys because it was "illegally" owned. So the high price on those items is understood. For something like ammo, that is just a temporary shortage, one could accept a small markup, but not to the levels some of these places are rising them. Do you see wal-mart charging $50 bucks for a 4 pack of Charmin? The supply of ammo will return as its made and sent to the distributors. The level that several websites and retailers have risen the price of ammo falls well outside the s/d chart, thats when it is called gouging. Especially on an item that is necessary for firearms to function.

Right now manufacturers and retail stores are restricted from gouging over a certain percentage because of the national crisis. I'd like to see this drop down to a neckbeard level.
