Now if 3M factories in the states were shipping overseas before taking care of us, I could see being pissed. Just like I am sure the government of the countries where the factories are located would be pissed if 3M shipped the mask made in their country here.

It was my understanding that these masks are being made here. I may have just assumed that. GlockPride mentioned in the post I quoted that 95% of 3m masks are made in USA.

In one spot on the video it says the mask are made in overseas factories.

[President Trump slammed 3M Co in a tweet on Thursday in regards to the company's production of protective masks.

Trump invoked the Defense Production Act to get the company to produce face masks.

At Thursday coronavirus briefing, Trump said "Hopefully they'll be able to do what they are supposed to do," he said.

St. Paul, Minnesota-based 3M did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said at the briefing, "We've had some issues making sure that all of the production that 3M does around the world, enough of it is coming back here to the right places."

95% of the respirator products for the US are made in the USA/Canada, meaning we aren’t relying on China for those. But, keep in mind, we are global manufacturing company with capabilities worldwide. We also manufacture here in the US for the Western Hemisphere.
I can’t really say much, not that I really know much. Keep in mind, I’m the lowest on the rung of a 96k employee company.

You know the CDC said that because they were caught flat footed and had no stockpile yea? Not because they were being truthful, if that were the case.....nurses wouldn't need them for PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT purposes.

It doesn't JUST protect people from if YOU have the virus, it protects YOU the wearer from increased chances of contracting it, 95% reduction in particulate is a 95% ****ing reduction good sir.

It wouldn't be such a big deal for our medical professionals to need them, if they did not PROTECT YOU THE WEARER FROM CONTRACTING THE VIRUS.

They literally did not have the capacity to produce or provide at a FEDERAL level to every state, these masks, so they did not want normal people to buy up all the stocks. Too bad so sad.

I got the impression what 3m was saying was that they ONLY sold to distributors, and didn't control what the distributors did with them. The guy kept saying 3m would not sell him masks, my guess because he's not a distributor, no?

If the distributors are shipping them overseas, that kind of sounded to me like a problem with the distributors, not with 3m. I could have misunderstood something though...
