A virus is so small a water filter or mask can NOT filter it out.
If you took all precautions and masked up and were stuck in a 8x8 room with someone coughing that had a virus chances are you will still get it.
Masks make you feel better. But will not make you 100% safe.
I copied this from the below article.
From 2010

Background
Protective respiratory face masks protect the nose and mouth of the wearer from vapor drops carrying viruses or other infectious pathogens. However, incorrect use and disposal may actually increase the risk of pathogen transmission, rather than reduce it, especially when masks are used by non-professionals such as the lay public. Copper oxide displays potent antiviral properties. A platform technology has been developed that permanently introduces copper oxide into polymeric materials, conferring them with potent biocidal properties.

Methodology/Principal Findings
We demonstrate that impregnation of copper oxide into respiratory protective face masks endows them with potent biocidal properties in addition to their inherent filtration properties. Both control and copper oxide impregnated masks filtered above 99.85% of aerosolized viruses when challenged with 5.66±0.51 and 6.17±0.37 log10TCID50 of human influenza A virus (H1N1) and avian influenza virus (H9N2), respectively, under simulated breathing conditions (28.3 L/min). Importantly, no infectious human influenza A viral titers were recovered from the copper oxide containing masks within 30 minutes (≤0.88 log10TCID50), while 4.67±1.35 log10TCID50 were recovered from the control masks. Similarly, the infectious avian influenza titers recovered from the copper oxide containing masks were ≤0.97±0.01 log10TCID50 and from the control masks 5.03±0.54 log10TCID50. The copper oxide containing masks successfully passed Bacterial Filtration Efficacy, Differential Pressure, Latex Particle Challenge, and Resistance to Penetration by Synthetic Blood tests designed to test the filtration properties of face masks in accordance with the European EN 14683:2005 and NIOSH N95 standards.

Medical health will be nationalized before 2030, my generation isn't buying the for profit system as the "best"

If the government can print itself $2 Trillion to give to billionaires, then it can print $1.5 Trillion a year to pay for health, that just goes RIGHT back into local American economies. Pay American's living wages, maximize resources by removing billionaires owning patents on medicines, and then the amount of tax revenue collected goes through the roof, because your spending money you print in this country, not on CHEAP CHINESE MANUFACTURED MEDICATIONS.

It is REALLY simple.

You argue you don't want socialism, I argue we have it already, but only for the wealthy. If you reverse this, and give the people medical safety nets you will see a thriving America in the next generations, fail this, and you will watch our empire crumble against the might of nations with 3RD WORLD STATUS overtaking us, most every developed nation in the world worth a **** has SOCIALIZED MEDICINE.

Not entirely true.

There are water filters that can filter out viruses. THose would be filters at .02. Such as the MSR Guardian filter. Filters that have a .02 rating are called Purifiers

Also Covid 19 isnt airborne. Its transmitted by water droplets exhaled from the lungs. N95 masks are perfectly capable of stopping droplets. Masks do need to be discarded often though, which is why the need for a healthy supply.

You also need eye protection

3M doesn't and cant control what its distributors do. Its the distributors that are to blame. The only thing 3M can do is to stop selling to those distributors and even then thats if there isn't a contract involved.

From what I have seen, the mask made in the US are staying here and those made overseas are staying overseas. I imagine if they tried to ship them all to the US the country where the factory is located would just nationalize it.

Doesn’t take long for conservative principles and the concepts of a restrained central government to die does it?

We actually have folks here advocating for socialism....lmfao.

Sad, isn't it? I wonder when he's going to turn in his firearms? I mean every "country worth a ***" is disarmed. Gotta keep the citizens safe you know.
