Papertowels often have designs embossed across them thinning the material and often creating small holes. not good. This is right up there with drinking fish tank cleaner because one of the ingredients is Chloroquine

FWIW, any type of cloth mask should help.
As I mentioned elsewhere, particle entrapment should increase by spraying the cloth lightly with vegetable oil (LIGHTLY, or you may clog it up).
Soapy water (or even plain water) should also work well for short periods, but the water will dry out quickly.
Also... cloth masks can be washed in hot soapy water to clean them and kill any virus on them. It's just a piece of cloth, people. Nothing magical involved.

Unless it's also part of social distancing, etc. we don't actually know how much protection a mask will provide to you or others around you.
