Long story short I keep getting a call from someone wanting "donations" asking for someone else who probably previously had my number. I am on the do not call list and have told them point blank they are not to call again and to remove my number yet again today I got another call and I am sick of it. They can be sued for 1500 per for calling and I want to collect since they obviously can not do the right thing.

I am not a big phone person to begin with and I will fully admit that since my wife passed it stresses me out a lot getting random calls like this especially when I have told them to quit. I am at the point where I can't handle any more BS.

The only thing I need is someone to handle this so they can pay up and quit calling. If I have to get their info and take them to court I will but I would rather just hand it over to someone else just to make the calls stop.

Take a deep breathe. You want this to cost you money? It's already stressed you out.

Block the number and/or don't answer the phone

First of all i would like to know how you will get their info cause everytime i ask they hang up on me.
My family and co workers get a kick out of me answering these kind of calls cause if i have time i give them all kinds of answers and ask all kinds of off the wall questions just to aggravate them, we all get a laugh out of them it makes them mad that i am wasting there time.

You can use the number to track back to the company handling the calls. They should be able to provide the information. Second off it should not cost me a dime. At 1500 per call they will rack up fees pretty fast. I don't care if I get a dime and a competent attorney who handles this probably has a legal aid who submits a form letter directly to the company to settle. Beyond that they will get court costs on top of the 1500 per call.

They keep using different numbers so the only other option is to turn off the phone. So then why have a phone at all... Oh wait so maybe the people who need to contact me can. It's also in Oklahoma city so lets just say if I have to deal with finding them... well it's better someone else handles it.

Here, but occasionally There.
Do as we do. If you don't recognize the calling number, especially so if it is out of state, don't answer it at all. If you aren't sure, answer with "this is 'your name'" instead of saying hello. Some of the automated calls trigger with the word "hello."

I answer with just my first name and no last name.

They are not in OKC. Just don't answer and let the call go to voice mail. If it is really someone important, they will leave a message.

Tracing the people will be difficult to impossible.
They spoof numbers all the time.
I had a lady call me last week wanting to know why I kept calling her.
I told her I hadn't called her and about spoofing numbers.
Told her if you see my number just don't answer.

Getting calls from various places and cities is stressful, you don't know who it is but it could be important and several things run through your mind-bill collector, scam, fraud, legitimate call-perhaps an old friend. But more than likely someone wanting to get you to part with your hard-earned money. I can't count the calls from some auto warranty company that continues to call whether I answer or not. Finally, I decided to not answer the phone if their caller ID isn't there and that goes for my Doctors, and results of lab studies. If it's important, leave a message and I'll return the call post haste but if you call and leave no message and I don't know the number-you'll get nothing form me.

^^^This is what we do on our home number (which pretty much exists for these kinds of calls, but a couple of doctors offices still use it). I usually answer my cell phone because the percentage of scam calls is much lower. I do get plenty of that one kind, but as soon as they say "automobile extended warranty" I hang up, as I don't have any extended warranties on any of my cars. Never have had.
