I think the same emphasis should be placed on 9-11 and the aprox 3.000 lives that were lost due to terrorists-maybe they do mention it in NYC, I don't know. But what I do know is that a LOT of people have placed 9-11 in the back of their minds and likely give it no thought. There have been a lot of terrorist activities that have been covered up- I hear and we absolutely need to know about so we can take some sort of preventive measures (Preventative measure is government talk and they probably don't know what it means either). Regardless, we have had a lot of dark days in the past couple of decades and someone is still out there-some in congress don't wish us well and they're still looking for ways to make things a little darker and we have to keep our eyes open.

I had been to the Water Resources Board building across the street the week before. The ceiling fell in and killed the lady receptionist where I had been standing. First pictures of McVey sent the hairs up on my arms, I had seen him purchase a 55 gal drum of Nitromethane at the previous years NHRA drag races in Ennis TX. He looked a little out of place with his military garb, but no one knew any better. The fuel supplier guy really felt bad later. He was a really good guy helping all the racers. I am sure there are a lot of scars with families and friends remaining. Thanks for posting and reminding us to never forget and stay vigilant.

I was in English clash at south rock creek. I remember another teacher coming in talking with my teacher and then they rolled a tv in to watch the news. I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe something like that happened so close to home. Then when we drove up their to see the scene I was speechless. Never seen anything like it. Sad day that I will never forget. God bless all the folks that were involved. One of our family friends that I go to worship with was working for Ker McGee at the time and said when the bomb went off it blew his window out and slammed his head down on his desk! This was at least a couple blocks away if I remember correctly. The other thing besides 9/11 I won’t ever forget is May 3 1999. I remember driving around Moore looking at the devastation. It looked like a nuke went off. They don’t say Oklahoma Strong for no reason.

When the rescue teams finally left, I attended a machine tool show being held at the facility where the rescue teams were staging from two days after they left. Driving down Harvey street it was amazing to see how the pressure wave of the explosion had bounced down the street leaving some windows intact and some windows broken on either side of the street. It just zig zagged down the street.

I was in Kansas at the time it happened. I had a cousin driving toward 10th and 235 from downtown in a VW Bug. She said that is the fastest she has ever driven that bug when the blast went off. She said it pushed her two blocks in 2 seconds.

I still say it was the hand of God removing the license plate from McVeigh's car. Was it ever recovered?

Don’t feel bad. It’s a common occurrence.

The American people tend to forget. There is an overwhelming attitude of “that’ll never happen here”. How many realize that the World Trade Center survived an attack by a van filled with explosives in 1993.

How many remember the beltway sniper?

Who would have thought bombs would be planted at the Boston Marathon?

How many other attacks have been forgotten or prevented that we will never hear about?
How many have heard of the Zebra attacks in the early 1970's in San Francisco no less. That was a series of racially-motivated Black-on-White murders by a faction of Black Muslims.

Zebra was just San Francisco attacks. Clark Howard reports in his book Zebra that the California DOJ suspected that there was a whole series of similar attacks throughout the state. There appeared to be a cult within the Nation of Islam called the Death Angels. To join, the prospective member had to kill nine White men, five White women or four White children. The theory was that it was harder to kill women and kids, hence the lower number required. Hacking was a favored method of killing as it showed that prospect was not afraid of blood.

Some doubt that this cult existed but I believe they did.

The story was not widely reported except in the Bay Area, largely, I suspect, because the killings were Black-on-White hate crimes. Four men were convicted and sent to prison for life.
