Yes! I was on a business trip in Boston and was having dreams about a ghost in the room. I woke up and couldn't get out of bed. It scared the s*** out of me. When I finally could get up, I looked and researched it and found it was a common thing...

I can go without reliving that.

Had it happen a few times long time ago.

The technical term for it, I think, is a REM sleep disorder (if it occurs frequently)

Essentially, during REM sleep your body is paralyzed so you can't/won't act out/on your dreams. For some reason, we awaken while in REM stage to consciousness but the body is still immobilized.

Yeah... ya feel like yer awake, ya can see stuff in the room, but can't move. I usually think there's an intruder in the house when it happens, and can't fully wake up.

Definitely not pleasant. :/
