I think it is just one tag. I’ve hunted that refuge quite a bit and it’s close to me. It’s always been my first pick, just shocked I got drawn.
Congrats okhunter, you should be able to bring home some meat on that hunt. I make the hunt you drew my 1st choice every year.

and yes the system is just bonus points which simply just puts your name in the hat 1x for every point you have.
Although the application process isnt perfect yet, the early draw is prolly due to ironing out the new license system a bit. Knowing a bit about how our old system worked, the major delays were in finding and eliminating the invalid applications. The system now is much better at this and Id bet the vast majority of invalids get caught and corrected before they even get submitted. But this is just an educated assumption.

I got bounced on elk (just adding to my pile of pp), but drew Little River NWR for the first part of November. I’ve never been down there, and it’s a long ways from where I live. May have to take a trip sometime this summer or I’ll just be flying blind.

I didn’t put in this year. Last year they lost most of my points from switching to the new system. Called to get it fixed and stayed on hold forever and they never came back in the line. Pissed me off but that’s life I guess. I actually just kept putting it off this year. Never get drawn and I know several people that have drew elk tags their second year putting in. So didn’t really care. I sure am ready for deer season though!
