When I lived with the folks, I thought Sirloin was the top of the line --- it was usually Round steak or Eye of Round, cooked to darn near shoe leather. Never even heard of Ribeye, Strip, Porterhouse, or Filet until I moved out!

Same here. The treat at dinner was a sirloin when a kid. T bones were never on the menu except at a restaurant for the parents. I can't remember how long ago I've had a sirloin since discovering rib eyes.

Steaks were unheard of in my house when I was growing up. Chopped sirloin was the closest it ever got.
