This is hilarious .... Dems fight GOP in Congress because GOP doesn't want to extend the benefit, and instead funnel money to Pentagon and pork. Deal falls through. So Trumpy decides to (arguably outside the law not that he or the GOP care) provide the benefit by EO. The the action by the head of the party of "law and order" gets sued by the Dems because they didn't uphold "law and order" but likely the voters won't give a crap about all that BS because they'll all have a case of cognitive dissonance for the whole thing. Then the cherry on the cake will be that the payroll tax that won't be collected will come due AFTER the election.
If the Democrats sue they will be holding up unemployment benefits. We will see if they are dumb enough to go that route or not.

Think about the consequences of nothing getting done like the democrats would make happen. Do we want an economic collapse? The liberals suck so bad, they don’t care about the people. The only care about power and will sacrifice “us” the citizenry. The end game of liberals is to control everything.

Tumps is confident with his ability and what he did before covid, (Best economy ever) that even though we are going have some short term inflation, he believes once we see the recovery, it will pay for the costs of trying to keep the collapse from happening.

Liberals suck and want to turn America into Venezuela or Cuba.

Even worse I think they want race wars like in South Africa.

The unemployment rate is now 10.2%. The unemployment rate under Obama in 2019 was 10.0%....and we weren't paying people an extra $400 a friggin' week to not even try to find a job !

I think that was a BS move and I'm pretty much against it. Almost every business i go to has a sign "now hiring" so people need to be willing to do some work to eat if they have to.

I remember years ago when there was a bad recession that I had friends with advanced college degrees that were working sacking groceries and pumping gas to earn enough to eat.

And I have absolutely zero interest in giving the socialist cities and states money to fund their incompetence over many years. If they like their democrats....they can keep their democrats, period !

The consequences of ballooning federal deficit and debt combined with eternal quantitative easing and endless unfunded hand outs will lead to a far worse economic collapse than letting extra unemployment benefits expire. What can we do to help that? Hey, lets stop collecting payroll taxes! WTF?

We are heading for far more than short term inflation.

Trump is between a rock and a hard place: 1) Continue to inflict long term damage on the economy in order to buy votes for reelection or 2) Rip the band aid off, save the economy/country, but maybe lose the election.

But, if the aid stopped altogether then people would have to get a job to support themselves and their families. Personally, I think 400 is to much still. May not help much in NY but it goes a long way in OK.

As for the payroll tax deferment....blatant attempt to buy votes with no real promise of any positive effect on the economy and no feasible, legal, or constitutional way for him to actually follow through.

“If I’m victorious on November 3rd, I plan to forgive these taxes and make permanent cuts to the payroll tax,” Trump said at a news conference in Bedminster, N.J. “I’m going to make them all permanent.”

“In other words, I’ll extended beyond the end of the year and terminate the tax,” Trump later added. “And so we’ll see what happens.”

If President Trump can actually eliminate the payroll tax permanently I hope everyone has been putting a lot of money back or into something else because you can kiss Social Security and Medicare goodbye.
When I was in Highschool in the late 90’s a few of the teachers loved telling us that we wouldn’t be getting the social security benefits we would soon be paying in. So, what I’m asking is, how long was SS gonna last anyhow? Or was I lied to as a poor innocent young stout handsome charismatic young gentleman?
