I haven't fished there in a couple years. I lived there for 5 it has earned its nick name the dead sea. Water can get very clear during the summer. It does have some small mouth if you can find them they will pack up. The lake gets a lot of pressure from tournament fisherman. Also they stock hybrids in there like crazy so they pound on the other fish. What are you planning on fishing for?

Whatever bites.
I usually set jug lines but I do not know if that does well there.
Catfish is my favorite to fish for but I do not mind other fish at all.
Sandies are fun as are small mouth. I will take my Pontoon probably.

Is the crime there bad..Thinking of docking the boat on a sand beach down from the house the wife wants to rent for a 2 night stay.
I heard from the owner I should take the boat out of the water as people like to steal stuff around there.

No offense to the OSA folks on the eastern side, but that's just how eastern OK has always been, with some places being extreme.

I wouldn't recommend leaving a boat unsecured on any lake if your not camping right next to it. What part of the lake are you staying on ?

I fish there frequently and they've been turned off since earl July it seems. Not sure what the deal is but I'm hoping it will turn on with this cold snap we're supposed to get this week. I'll try to remember to post results if they're biting this weekend.
