Surefire is only good for draining batteries quickly.
Streamlight and Fenix are far superior in brightness, battery life, and price.

I'll admit, Streamlight is quickly becoming my favorite torch, but you won't find better customer service than Surefire. I bought a G2 once upon a time from a member here, that had some kind of ugly advertisement lazer engraved on the bezel. I called Surefire, told them about it and tried to purchase a new bezel, but instead, they just sent me a new one, free of charge.

Not exactly the answer to your question, but I've stopped buying alkaline batteries. They all leak, no matter what the ad says. Even brand new in the unopened package, they leak within a few years, just sitting there waiting for use.

Now I only buy Eveready brand Lithium batteries. They don't leak.

The cost is really just a smidgen above the price of alkalines.

No more ruined remote controls, flashlights, electronic this and that stuff, etc.

Fenix 32/35 PD/UE line is relatively inexpensive, tough and has served daily duty in my pocket for nearing a decade. It runs on 18650 rechargeable, daily use will see a battery last up to a month before it needs swapped out with a freshly charged one. I run orbtronic units in mine that are 3k + mAh. The initial investment will be just a little north of a C note but it will be an investment that will pay for itself.View attachment 174561
Ditto on my Fenix 35. I took my Surefire to their booth at Wannamaker and found the 35 was the most comparable to it. I flicked it on while looking at the 35. I said that wasn't as bright as the Surefire. He flicked the side button and POW the light was as bright then POW the light was frikken blinding. My Surefire is a backup now.

Pelican StealthLite 2410PL LED Flashlight with Photoluminescent Shroud, 183 Lumens, Yellow

This is my go to; by every door and in every vehicle flash light. Brightest handheld I have ever used. You're never gonna lose it because it glows in the dark. 4 AA batteries is all it takes. I know it looks like a bag of crap and a far cry from tactical but I cant think of a better light for three times the money.
