I have an 11yr, 8yr and 2 month old
never put them in our bed but I know it’s hard to not do that. Good that you got yours in their own bed It’s the safest place for them to be.
when they are really young I think you have no choice but to feed them on demand. As they get older it does not have to be that way. On kid number one we had a dr tell me ..... if they are not too hot, not too cold, went to bed with a full belly and Not have a fever then chances are they are just fine even though they are screaming their ass off. Resist the urge and let them cry it out. You don’t have to get them to a full 8 hours the first night.

Having hard time convincing the wife to let him cry it out. Hopefully soon though.
I'm in my 60's and still have nightmares of being weaned. Keep trying though!
mashed potatoes worked well for us. Our little lady is 10 months now. Sleeps all night most nights. If she does get up it’s once between 3 and 5 am.
Baby boys never get weaned.
