I'd rather have a Hi-point on the nightstand than a Taurus!
Every Taurus I've had the displeasure to shoot was horrible in terms of trigger, accuracy, consistency, & reliability.
Every Hi-point I've shot wasn't something to brag about, but reliability was 100% & consistency was excellent even if point of aim accuracy wasn't.

If your shots were 10" off, shift the sites to line things up!

Not my pistol. It was handed to me to try out. No bueno.

That said, I've never owned a Hi-point pistol, but I have some friends that do,
That is where my experience comes from.
I haven't come across one yet that was priced right for me to want to get one.
I have owned a couple of Taurus', never again, I've learned my lesson.

The only Taurus I own is the Stainless Judge in the 3" chambers. Its a blast to shoot. Some of the HD rounds that are produced now are pretty impressive.

I think people confuse Hi-Points with those crappy Mavrick arms and Stallard arms clunkers of the 80's and 90's.
Which I guess were the forerunners of the Hi-Points. They had fixed sights.

I have had dozens come through SDA Classes when I was teaching them. Never had one make it through the 50 round qualifier. Yes, I am one of those guys that made students shoot. Those and Scyy's I usually had them use one of my pistols after 3-4 jams just to speed up things, as I didnt want to be there all day trying to shoot 50 rounds.
