Agreed. It's being called "riot porn" and, thanks to the algorithms/AI discussed in other threads and the media's tendency to amplify the negative, people reading about this stuff on the internet get fed a steady diet of information which creates the impression that these incidents are widespread and common. They are certainly happening...but it ain't going to happen to you at the steak and shake in midwest city.

The vast majority of American cities and towns were entirely too boring yesterday. The vast majority of our 330+ million citizens were not assaulted while dining out last night, nor will they be today. Have a plan and be aware of your surroundings for sure but someone's fantasy of wading through a crowd of scrawny SJWs leaving a wake of whimpering thumb suckers crying for their momma are most likely not ever going to play out.
Oh how I hope you're right cause I really like my Steak and Shake meal....

Instead of just playing "what can I do?", I suggest also thinking about how likely it is for such a scenario to occur to you.

There are a limited number of SJW's who can be manipulated into violating the rights of others. I believe the number is lower than media coverage leads us to believe. Unless you live in a major urban area in which there is a history of rioting, I'd say that the number of loons in your area is limited. I'll go further out on a branch and say that there aren't enough loons for them to be bused to places like OKC and Tulsa. It's getting harder and harder to recruit fresh loonies when more and more of them are facing federal charges. Likewise for "community organizers" (I sincerely hope!).

Too much time watching videos has caused us to lose an accurate sense of proportion... perhaps even to be spooked. I do not believe the looneyness is a spreading contagion that is "coming soon to your neighborhood".

I agree. When these same few videos are posted over and over and someone dutifully chimes in with "coming soon to your neighborhood", you are doing the work of these protesters for them. In my opinion, you are providing them with an influence they shouldn't have. In a way, you are feeding the trolls.

I don't think we'll have the large scale riots here like in other major cities (hope not), but keep in mind that all it would take is a white OKCPD officer shooting a black person to light things off.
And BLM would be coming from all over the country if they saw a good enough chance to make circus out of it.
Hopefully our prosecutors and elected officials have made a strong enough point that their chit don't fly here.

I do not believe this will be an issue here. Some of the local council people might bow down to them. But I know for a fact the Police Department would not. As soon as that first weekend of wanna-be rioters started getting violent, they were quickly dispatched with some 40MM Spicy gas

The Fallacies of "Judged by Twelve"

To add to this guy's comments on going to trial, I wouldn't be too confident that one could get 12 intelligent "peers" to serve on my jury. Many of those called for jury duty aren't very knowledgeable. A co-worker that worked with me at the OSBI sat on jury for a drug case. The other jurors had no idea that "Possession with Intent to Distribute" was a more serious crime than just "Possession of Controlled Substances."
