Lord. All. Mighty. That's some ingenuity.


The rifle is a Savage 340 or a Stevens/store brand version.
I *thought* there was only one way to get a scope on them.
The receiver is just a round steel tube. Some are drilled and tapped already.
It takes an angled piece (Weaver ?) that mounts to the left (round) side of the receiver, giving you a flat surface.
Then a second piece is screwed to that flat surface, then two scope rings attach on top of the second piece.
I've seen a couple of those rifles scoped at gun shows and the scope isn't centered over the barrel, the scope is to the right a bit.
Looks like it would be hard on a right handed shooter but o.k. for a lefty.
