Same here. We were out for under an hour yesterday and just lost it again almost an hour ago. Fired up the generator again.
Battery backups were going nuts.

What kind of generator do you have?
I see you have a regular fire place with brick backing and sides.
If you want a LOT more heat from that fire box you can cut some flat steel 1/8" to 3/16" thick to fit as a back stop and sides in that fire box.
You will be amazed at how much more heat that projects into a room.

We have a generac 16kw, bought it from All Bolt Electric back in 2008. Had it installed when the house was being built.
It's been running all night now.
