Just got through with the Granada TV series Sherlock Holmes. This excellent program from the UK adapts many of the stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle including two of the four Holmes novels, The Hound of the Baskervilles and The Sign of Four.

Most of the adaptations stuck pretty close to the Doyle stories but there are a few that the similarity ends with the title. Very well-acted, this was a very enjoyable;e series with the late Jeremy Brett in the title role and David Burke and later Edward Hardwicke as Dr. Watson.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Not a big fan of movies ... I have trouble sitting still that long and usually wind up with a book or magazine. Right now we are watching a marathon of "Dangerous Women". I'm trying to figure out why women tend to 1) enlist someone else to so their dirty work and 2) if they do decide to do the deed themselves they tend to choose strangulation as their manner of doing the deed.

Little Big Man
Jeremiah Johnson
The Matrix

Every time I see one of these, I just start watching.

Also, about every 70's kung fu movie ever made.

Just watched the 1940 movie, Sergeant York. Excellent film!!

Just in case anyone doesn't know about it, The Fighting 69th is also excellent. It has Jimmy Cagney as the ne'er-do-well soldier who joins the army in WWI and is sure to come to a bad end, and Pat O'Brian as Father Duffy, the priest who tries to help Cagney.

We like GRIT also but sometimes the commercials get annoying plus we have seen just about every movie they show at least twice. They need to pay more royalties for some new content.

I watched "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" yesterday. (the original)

Funny, it's a parallel to the Reds taking America. Obviously, there was something to that.

Great flick.

In the last several days, I've watched "The Dig" and "Midnight Sky" on Netflix --- both were very good movies! Will be watching "Rebecca" soon.
