So back on an actual computer this morning, it looks like your image comes from here:
https://oregoncatalyst.com/48185-100-arson-attacks-portland-10days.html

Which aside from the grammatical errors I'd expect more in our posts than a "news" site leaves off several key things to understanding the chart. For instance would be "What was on fire?" Was it a trash can, dumpster, car, residence, apartment building, skyscraper? How many of these fires required the fire department? Were these confirmed by an authority like the fire department or were these reports? Are some of these duplicate reports? What did the rest of the city look like? For instance here is a map of the area with the area from the picture highlighted:

I genuinely don't know the answer to the what did the rest of the city look like. And that's one of the problems with that image --- that leaves all context out and ability to understand it out.

Look, I'm not saying that setting fires an endangering lives is a good thing by any means, but I'm also of the opinion that no matter how impressive a chart looks, you have to be getting good data with context. Because were those 100 houses, then it's a lot different than 100 trash cans. (Unless you are named Oscar).

I am wondering whether the rioters in Portland were like in other places. In other words, if a fire was in the CHAZ/CHOP district, was the fire department even able to respond to the fires there? If the fire department was NOT able to respond, would they have even been able to "file" an official report of the fire?

Good questions. I can't speak to CHAZ because that's, well, three hours away and I haven't been there in a few years. I'd assume that even were they not able to respond, there'd still be a file based on the fact that if they knew enough to get on RickN's map, it had to have been reported somehow and put down in a file. In my time there, I've never heard of fire/EMSA not being able to do their work. Although I have heard rumors that the LEO types have been delaying their access into areas where protestors need treatment. I don't have an authoritative source on that which I could point to specifically.

Come on sweetie, you know as well as I do that I could post all the primary sources in the world and you wouldn't believe them just because I posted them. So my suggestion if you want to learn more would be start slow:
View attachment 188305

And then work your way though other sources like:

www.oregonlive.com/portland
www.katu.com
www.kgw.com
www.kptv.com (this is the local Fox affiliate since you'll like it most)
www.npr.com/tags/portland
www.opb.org

Also, I highly recommend going there. You can talk to people. There's lots of hiking, great food, mountains, snow, rivers, Sportsman's Warehouse (Many of which seem to be getting primers in more than around here).
Keep up the good work. BTW I don't watch fox, and typically quote liberal media outlets to prove my points. I find it amusing you post anything from PBS since one of their members has recently suggested children should be ripped from their Republican arms and sent to re-education camps.

But we all make mistakes from time to time. See my signature for more details :D
Thanks for being a fan boi!
There's more dynamics than just the portland police declaring it for giggles because of the relationship between them and the way their regulations work and more importantly how they work with Multonomah County Sheriff's office who has less restrictions (in use of tear gas for instance) due to how they are not directly impacted by restriction the portland police have on them.

The relationship in many ways is why stuff in Portland can escalate quickly because Multonomah SO is made up much much more of the "good ole boy son imma crack your skull for funzies if you dont respect my authority" crowd than the general population of Portland is. Many portland police are from outside the city and fall in that stereotype as well. So the population of the city can tend to be strained at best with the LEO community. This is the picture gathered from talking to many people on the ground there anyways. I've never had interaction in an official context with them.
It's amazing you listen to the "people on the streets", never interacting with LEO there to hear their side of the story, yet you know so much about where they live and react. Truly amazing.
You might want to spell check your posts BTW before one of these know it all's on here point that out. :D

Did you really just say that you normally quote liberal media outlets and then post a breitbart link in the same retort? Plus, I assume you don't really want to get into the peeing match of seeing which network's people have said or done stupid stuff recently.. like how Charlie Kirk paid to send insurrectionists to the Capitol.

I'm sure it was an oversight just like how I said I'd never interacted with LEOs in an *official* context. I've run into lots of different types of enforcement personnel from various agencies but not from the PD or Sheriff's office. With the fact that they're a smaller percentage of he overall population and my policy generally being "don't do dumb stuff that'll get me an on duty interaction with law enforcement" I'm sure you could understand.

Finally, I might want to check them, but with most people here seemingly so much smarter and better than I in every way, it's easier and a much more efficient use of my time to let people correct it in their heads or prove my good buddy hoddy's quote in my sig block correct.

Good thing that Nikon isn't on that list.

Of course, as much of their stuff that I have, I probably wouldn't need to buy anything more anyway.
