I have never understood why anyone buy in a HOA.
why would you want to live where some tells you what and what you can't do on your own property.
I guess some people just have a need to have a mommy and daddy of some kind to tell them no you can't. Geeeeeeeeeees

Or they found a house they loved at a price they could afford.

HOA's do have their place sometimes, its probably why you don't see a run down meth lab trailer next door to a million dollar home inside gated community. Say you bought 5 acres in a rural development, would you want someone moving in a starting a pig farm next door, or maybe bringing in a dilapidated travel trailer for their crack head cousin to live? It seems the ones we only hear about are those very restrictive ones. There are many HOA's that are not very restrictive at all and their main intent might be to preserve the value of homes and property, and maybe maintaining a private road or something.

HOA rules are not secretive, nothing should be a surprise and you chose to live there. If you don't like the rules then go somewhere else, but don't complain when you break them.

You choose to live in HOA, you choose to live by their rules. He's in the wrong.

Actually, according to federal law, the HOA can not prevent you from flying the US flag, period. Its the "Freedom to Display the American Flag Act of 2005". So, the HOA is in the wrong here.

No, they're still in the right. The Freedom of Display the American Flag Act says they cannot prevent you from flying an American flag, but they can dictate how and when. They didn't ban the flag from being flown, they merely dictated it could not be flown during the Christmas season. They are well within the law.

How? He is not flying the flag.

He crying about it?
