I have been here for over 10 years, and I came initially because the classifieds. I met a member (I don't remember who it was) at a Tulsa gun show. I was looking for a couple of things and he suggested OSA. Not only did I eventually find what I wanted, but I have met several members over the years and have enjoyed those times. I don't see the need to change anything. It all works just fine, and it is easy to skip over anything I don't want to see.

Well hot dog! Is this confirmed to actually support the site? Amazon has a lot of copycats and i don't see an actual "OKShooters" Store page.

I think @Okuma said he gets $1 from each shirt. It would at least provide some advertisement for the site to wear it around town.

Not only that but I would like to see some actual financial data. I don't just blindly give money to anything.

This site, and others like it, have been free to use for a long time, and when they become advertising vehicles like this one did awhile back...WE become the product. I'm not paying money for the privilege of being a product unless I see an accounting sheet.

Sorry if that sounds ******, but that's the truth. Lots of folks reaching for our pockets these days.

I suppose money actually could be tight. Nobody is going to pay to advertise and have their company associated with a good portion of the thread traffic here...except for maybe InfoWars, and they don't really need to advertise. That's another issue though.

how ridiculous! you of all people know how much bandwidth you consume on OSA.
stump up and pull your own load.

I just upped with a lifetime option and challenge you to do the same.

Many of you have seen the recent pm so I won't say anything that wasn't addressed well in that post.
Sites like this are rare. They will get rarer. We need to open our wallets and make sure we keep it. I have and I'm not flush with cash so I gave what I could. You don't have to sell the farm to do it and maybe you can't do it right now, but when you can give what you can. We need a place like this. I need a place like this. You need a place like this. People we don't even know need a place like this so lets keep a place like this.
I'm not an example of the outstanding people we have here sharing a wealth of information you can't get anywhere else. I'm grateful to have this knowledge available to me. By only asking how to and why, I have the answers from experts with a lifetime of experience.
Please give my words considerations.
Thank you
I am already a lifetime supporter?

Hey, I got an idea!

While we have @Okuma on the line... how about someone explain the "chicken & lego" bar some members have?

specialhen.png

We even have a thread about it (with no answers) here:
https://www.okshooters.com/threads/what-is-this.304111/

:drunk2:

Oh man, I have to figure out why that's showing. On my other site the hen and legos are a long running inside joke that eventually turned into a rank. I have no idea why it's showing here and will look into it.

I just thought of a potential idea. Havent seen it mentioned yet here, but if someone has forgive me. @Okuma ever thought about selling merch? T-shirts, hats, bumper stickers, etc? It could double as free advertisement! for ya. Plenty of merch sites now days where you can create you own custom product line of merch and they do all the production/shipping to buyers.:urwelcome:

We have a shirt set up with Amazon right now where I might get $1 of the sale, it's really just there so you guys have an option to buy a shirt if you want to and not for profit. I can also order a bunch of shirts and then just sell and ship them if there's enough interest and we have a design that people like.

So we have 2 of 3 most active moderators on the forum in favor of some type of change to classifieds posting. Along with multiple people mentioning it in this thread. I suggest even a trial run.

Something like 50 legitimate posts and member for 1 week to sell items or pm members. Adds are still viewable to anyone. If you want immediate access to classifieds buy a minimum 1 year supporter membership. Supporters get 10 free listings a month. Many ways to make being a supporter more valuable and drive community over clicks. Again this is assuming the goal is to have the site sustainable and not worried about driving clicks.

I'm sorry, this is just one of those things that that I don't see changing anytime soon.

It does, but only a very little. I reduce the "profits" on the item to make it as affordable as possible since they're kind of expensive to begin with.

Long time member, but I haven’t been active in sometime. However I do value this site for its information especially pertaining to Oklahoma. In this current climate I feel this page will be more important than ever. I hope everyone that uses this page/community will be willing to support it in some fashion.

Money is real tight for me but I might auction off a bit of ammo to pay for my share if that's allowed.

I've been a member of a forum in the past that had a section in the classifieds set up just for auctioning off items for forum support. It worked out real well. Maybe that is something we can do here.
