The .17 Rem will shoot much further.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing a spitzer pointed type bullet in the 30-50gr range make it into existing 22LR and 22mag cartridges. Like this, but more commonplace.

With all the new centerfire cartridges In the not so distant past I'm actually surprised we haven't seen another Rimfire cartridge. Recently acquired a 17hm2, and wanting to find a 17hmr. I'm kinda hoping that there will be emphasis on more or better quality control on all Rimfire ammo.
I'm looking for a shootable, affordable case of .32 Long RF. Not in my lifetime I reckon. I could convert the Remington No. 4 Rolling Block to .32 Colt Short, but nah.

I have some of that but it’s loaded with wooden bullets. Not even kidding.
