They want $15 hr min wage and they're going to get it one way or another. Talked to electrician today who has tried hiring, but when someone signs up for interview, they don't show. He was told that unemployment Bennies depend on someone making an attempt to find work. Sign up, no show = tried.
A company has to pay more than the gov. It only cost $4 trillion in debt this last year to get where we are, next year will be $6 trillion.
$10 2x4, $100 3/4 plywood. Get u some.

Kiosk tablets to place orders in fast food will pretty much kill the need for anyone in that roll. When are the extra unemployment payments supposed to stop? I haven't kept up.
BULLSHIVERS! They still get the order wrong!

What is the absolute first thing you do when you get the sack from McDonalds?

I've been doing it for over 50 years. I'd estimate 91% of the time the order was wrong.

The KFC in Ponca was just using the drive up window the other day because they can enough people to work because of the free money. They didn't have enough people to run the inside area.

i mean....i still don't understand.

surely you realize that jobs that don't pay the bills will just go away, right? how many jobs are going to be paying hourly wages that are equal to a gallon of gas or milk?

put an add out for an employee a few weeks ago and had 200 plus people apply. all the young ones just wanted to show that they applied in order to satisfy a requirement to the unemployment that they were looking for a job. ended up hiring an older person that actually wanted to work. and that is ok with me!!! turned out only three actually would come for interview and one of those was a no show

Good on you for hiring an "older person".

I'll be 60 next week and I'm finding it impossible to find something that pays a living wage that will consider hiring an old guy that can't be on his feet all day.

That's the big trend in the youth job market from petty functionaries jobs up to corporate level positions. People are loyal to the dollar, and they'll hop up and leave when someone offers them more. Can't blame em, a replacement will be hired and trained before your obit will hit the paper.
Yes, if management absolutely has to hire somebody. They may try seeing what it looks like without.
