You should be able to buy feed wheat at any elevator. At least you can around here.
Not at our elevators. They refuse to sell it from the bins. We used to be able to buy Shawnee Mills feed wheat for food plots, but that went away too. Just mixes available now. Just looked online and can't find any in bags through Shawnee.
Let me know where I can get it in your area. I'll need several tons.

Correct. Seed dealers have the seed market sewed up tight. As earlier stated you have to sign away your life now for wheat seed, and certify that you won't use your harvest for seed wheat the following season.
Everybody signs it, but I'm sure there are some with grain bins that may or may not keep a truck load or two. :hey3:

There are still folks around me who bin their seed wheat until fall and then send it to the cleaner and get it back before sowing time, or there are mobile seed cleaning guys as well. No idea what stipulations, etc goes along with it. I usually help my neighbor bin out about 6000 bushels every August.

Yep, I typically get mine from a person with seed bins. Every Time I've bought from seed dealers, I've had to sign my life away to commit not putting any in bins for next season when farming for profit.
I think it's widely ignored, but unless one has a buddy, your committed to the dealers and they don't want to mess with anyone needing a hundred pounds or so for a food plot.
I'm getting back into several dozen acres planting this year. Not looking forward to seed prices.

Another issue with what he said, is that Tyson is also a huge producer of pork and chicken, and JBS is also a huge producer of chicken. Even if folks do quit buying beef, these two have their bases covered.:censored:

I’ve worked for Tyson and Pilgrims (now JBS) on their poultry sides for over 20 years, and both companies have gradually gotten more cutthroat on how they deal with their suppliers and contract producers. In other words, they’re a bunch of crooked SOB’s.:soapbox:

When the wife and I started having our own meats processed in mid 90's it was about a $15-25 kill fee and 25-35 cents a lb to process.. Now it's an $85 kill fee and 85 cents per pound, after feeding grain for 90 days and those fee's Our beef isn't going to be cheap enough for the venture.. I'm going to have to become ready to do it myself..
