Picked up this Knife at an Estate Sale and I need to know if the rust can been removed. Also can anyone tell me anything about the knife itself?

You can also do a 50/50 vinegar and water bath for no more than 30 minutes at a time. Rinse well and oil before it flash rust. Hang it so that just the blade is in the mix.

I don’t see any marks to say who made it. It appears to be a Damascus blade. For the rust I’d try 0000 fine steel wool and oil and rub it in gently.

What @Fyrtwuck said. You can use copper wool or a copper brush as well. Copper removes rust. As far as the knife, it looks like a fairly common no-name usually made in Pakistan, India, or China. New it's probably $50 at most. If it was handmade in the US, it would usually have a maker's mark somewhere, but sometimes, there are guys who don't.

Careful with anything super acidic or abrasive, you get the folded steel pattern to show through acidic etching (different steels oxidize at different rates). Point being, you go too rough with steel wool and you'll lose the contrast in the folded steel layers. Steel wool will absolutely work to get the rust off, just go super slow!
