Well got my new YHM Mite in a while back and love it. However did not know about the grease I was supposed to put in it and now can't get it apart. I have tried different oils and solivants but no help. This sucker won't budge!!!!

Any ideas guys? Other than sending it back to YHM.

Get off my lawn.
Get some Kroil and soak it for a couple days.

If it is an SS mite you can soak it in a 50/50 mixture of vinegar/hydrogen peroxide. Be careful with the fumes from this and disposal of this. Do some research on the mix before hand. You are creating lead acetate when it dissolves the lead.

:D Welcome to Mite ownership! I run a stainless Mite and know exactly what you're dealing with. Once you have it apart I highly recommend slathering (and I mean getting after it) the threads and baffle stack in anti-seize, as that should make disassembly a non-issue moving forward.

Aside from soaking the can or freezing it, the best way I have found to break it loose is to heat the can up simply by using it, and then threading the baffle stack out while it is still hot using the disassembly tool. You'll want a heavy pair of leather gloves or similar to handle it. It's not a bad idea to make sure that the stack will unthread after each use at the range either.
