not bragging...but my wife is 5,3 110 lbs. You should see her with my 870 tactical. she shoulders it correct, leans into it. We are just now getting into the AR thing but she picks things up pretty quick.

I felt so self conscious about asking for a bike that seemed to be considered a 'girls' bike that I left without even buying one. I'm still thinking about what to buy. I remember my sisters riding some of my dads big bikes with no problems at all. I didnt know an 883 was considered a 'girls' bike. Ive sure seen alot of guys riding them.

So much for "nofear", eh?

I'm 5'2" (if I can get my hair to stand up high enough) and I have in my arsenal a .380, 9mm, .40, and .45 semi-autos.

My pocket carry was a Taraus compact .45 until my hubby liked it so much he traded me for his Springfield .45. I fell in love with the Springfield anyway. I like the built in safety features so I never have to worry if the safety is on or not. If it's not in my hand, the safety is on.. LOL

The gun I shoot best is the Ruger 9mm, but the barrel digs into me because I appendix carry. My everyday carry is a Springfield subcompact .40 which I feel real comfortable with.

One of the guys at H & H also mentioned a 9mm won't easily go through glass and a .45 goes slower but the .40 is to be just right :thumb:

I had the same issue when I started shopping for my carry gun. I've been shooting since I was 4. I knew what I wanted when I went into the stores. My husband and I went into several different stores and ALL of them said as a woman I needed to go with a smaller gun (I was looking for a .357 as it is my favorite to shoot). We ended up buying from someone on here. Forget the clerks who don't know what they are talking about :)

I dislike how people assume that women somehow need a special gun that's "just for ladies," especially when their recommendation is a tiny gun like a J-frame, which shows a lack of understanding of basic physics. Sure women typically have smaller hands, but there are plenty of guns that fit smaller-handed individuals (the Sig P225 comes to mind) that aren't "lady guns." Handling a good self-defense caliber is really more a matter of technique than strength.
