I know of a couple of cases where the police were called because of a gun seen in a posted area. In both cases, they were detained and checked out.
As far as I know, they were never specifically charged with letting their gun be seen. One had a seriously expired TX license and was charged with carrying without a license. The other was in possession of a controlled substance.....

The SDA provides administrative penalties (fines, temporary suspensions) for not following SDA rules, but the only ones I hear about are failure to notify LEO when stopped, carrying drunk, etc.

One of our members here posted about walking thru a doorway and the grip of his iron hitting the door facing not once...not twice...but SEVERAL times at his place of business, making a very audible "CLANG!" every time he did so. He kept a cool head and didn't make any gesture towards it or comment about the noise or the fact that it was his weapon hitting the doorway and therefore, nobody else paid any mind either. Be that as it may, the sheeple were none the wiser as well.

Don't know if you were referring to me, but I've had this happen to me at least a couple of times. Can't remember where, but the first time, I was a little nervous, looked around, and no one had flinched, so I just went on my business.

Unfortunately, as others have said, the general public is NOT paying that much attention.

To the op I would say the worst possible outcome is someone sees it without you noticing, comes up behind you and disarms you then kills you and robs the place you are in and kills everyone in there too just my .02

I would venture to say that the vast majority would not even think to look or identify if you are printing unless they themselves have a permit and know what to look for. On the off chance that someone actually makes visual contact with the firearm, I doubt they would even be concerned. Most would probably assume you are a LEO. I think as long as you are not posing a threat, no one seems to care.
