I'd post this pic at all of the local gas stations and diners and offer a small reward for information leading to an arrest. Surely someone would come forward.

Technically they haven't done anything illegal yet. Although the county road is closed, it doesn't belong to us. It is still county land that has been deemed "unmaintainable", which gives us the right to barricade it. If at some time the county wants to pay to rebuild the road, they have the authority to pull the gates and reopen it to the public. They assure me that won't happen unless we sell a portion of the land that would require road access.Doesn't change the fact that they have caused me one hell of a lot of work.
I don't think there is such a thing as Conspiracy to Commit Poaching. You can have a spotlight, and an unloaded gun, but your not breaking the law until you fire the gun. I think you can spotlight out the window of a moving vehicle legally, until there is a shot fired. Not for sure on the legal loopholes for spotlighting, not really a past time of mine.

Possession of a spotlight can be cause for a ticket for "harassing wildlife."
Its kind of a broad rule than can be applied wherever its wanted, as was explained to me by a GW

I had trouble with adjoining land owners on 80 acres I hunted for a couple years, they went so far as to cut down trees blocking access to the land one year, from the gate on in 8 very large oak trees were laid across the road, was the land owner ever pissed, so my opening weeked was spent cutting wood and clearing the road..they would destroy my ground blinds, walk in on you during a hunt, drive by and scream to "get off that land".

They had "hunted" it for years and had the mind set they owned it, when I showed up and posted the leased sign is when the fun started.

If it is truly a road to no where it would not be too hard to get it listed as a private road. Long story short we have a ranch off a road to no where (or its faster to be driving from the other direction and no reason to drive through our ranch), and we got it listed as a private road.

What others have said about oil field workers is true, they have done more damage than any poacher ever has, and they kill more game than poachers. We let the oil field worker that checks the pumps hunt our land under the promise he will report poachers and only take one buck, and he has "caught" more poachers last season than all of the hunters combined in our county.

Give them a sense of ownership and they will protect your property when you are away.

Also we have road traps to flatten tires on roads that no one should be on but us. We put these on the interior roads that are in no way "through" roads. We also place game cameras on these roads and have gotten priceless shots, including a man peeing on the tree the game camera was hung on. Also remember that all of these roads are "under lock and key."
