Wow, I haven't seen that setup yet. That illustrates the silliness of the brace more than an AR, even. It looks like fun, though.
To respond to the OP, I have an AR pistol and it's a fun range toy but also handy to put in the car/truck easily if desired. It's just a poor man's SBR to me. I...
One could argue that if you were capable of leaving an area to go get your gun, you were safe and therefore no longer threatened and wouldn't need to go back to shoot an attacker.
That said, if it were a true active shooter at a workplace or somewhere similar, where you might have an...
I've wondered about this before. Similar but not the same situation: my car has really deep bucket seats so I don't carry my gun in a holster or pocket when I drive. When I get out I either slip the gun (in pocket holster) into my pocket or gun (in IWB holster) into my waistband. I'm always...
This is why we need federal law prohibiting rule making by government agencies without a vote of congress. A dream, I know, but would be great for fixing the ATF and EPA.
I know I want an SBR type weapon but I have no interest in paying an extra $200 and waiting a year for a stamp. I'm just...
I almost always carry concealed but I'll allow my gun to be partially visible sometimes if it's too much trouble to keep it covered.
I've never heard a single story of anyone being targeted because they were open carrying yet I hear that argument repeated all the time. I just don't believe...
I'm surprised I've only seen a couple other guys open carrying. I saw a guy carring a springfield XD in a retention holster at QT once.
I doubt anyone has even noticed me in the few times I've open carried. I'm either carrying a tiny, grey P3AT IWB where you can barely see it, or when I carry...
I'm eager to see a firearms freedom act here. I'd build an SBR and a homemade suppressor.
Then again, the likelihood of getting caught by a cop that would even know to ask questions about an SBR would be pretty slim.
I've only visibly open carried once and that was at walmart. I was in dress slacks and a dress shirt and had a grey P3AT IWB in my belt. I doubt anyone even noticed. When I'm dressed for work I'm probably the last person people would suspect to be carrying anyway. I'm going to start doing it...
I understand the 21' rule. Do most criminals who would be armed with a knife know about it? I have to wonder.
If a random thug is armed with a knife and he sees that I'm carrying a gun, I'd have to imagine that he'd feel underarmed and leave me alone. I doubt that he'd think "If I can get...
I have no issue with the guy carrying like that. Sure it's not my preferred way to carry but what he's doing is legal and as long as he doesn't act like a moron or a lunatic in some way he's being an ambassador for responsible gun use. If I came across him in public I'd probably look to see...
Is there any reason to believe that a takedown 10-22 would be less accurate or less able to hold a zero than a standard 10-22? I would be concerned that over time with repeated use putting it together and taking it apart that it would develop some slop or looser fit between the barrel and receiver.
I'm pretty sure that my pastor carries. He regularly mentions his shooting range trips in his sermons. What strikes me as the dumbest is that he thinks there needs to be a restriction on the second amendment but I'm sure he'd flip out at a mention of "reasonable restrictions" on religion under...
I'm really not trying to be a troll. I don't see any strawman. Either transitioning to open carry is a threat or it isn't. The road rage incident that the OP offered up was probably a poor illustration but there are real life scenarios where exposing a gun can prevent an attack.
If a cop...
The notion that exposing a previously concealed weapon constitutes deadly force is silly. So you're saying that if I'm in Walmart and my gun is concealed under my coat but I decide to take off my coat to be more comfortable, I'm all of a sudden threatening everyone with deadly force because I'm...
If a person gets out of their truck in that situation a reasonable person may assume it is for the purpose of doing the other person harm. In that situation displaying the firearm may cause the aggressor to change his mind and leave which would prevent a legally justified but unfortunate shooting.
This is an interesting discussion. When you say "point shooting" are you talking about shooting from the hip or simply not using the sights?
When I practice CCW shooting I don't aim but I do draw and hold the gun in a normal shooting stance. I've found that I can draw either of my CCW guns...
