Thank you all for the responses. The wife and I have discussed not using a realtor. We may go that route, but neither of us knows a thing about real estate and we are looking to buy in an area neither of us grew up in. My sister and her husband are teachers and have contacts in nearly every...
Hello.
The wife and I are planning on buying a house this Spring/Summer. We apparently don't know anyone who knows a decent realtor. The only person I know who has bought a house recently didn't care too much for his realtor. Do any of you have any advice on a realtor that works south/southwest...
The southern par
There are shallow sections where you can wade out into. It looked mostly deep. The spot where I was catching them at had about a 2 square foot area of 12 inch deep water where I could land them at. Then it looked to drop off to about 5-6 feet deep in a hurry.
As we were leaving they were stocking the river again. If anyone has some free time to kill before rifle season, I suggest fishing above the river crossing.
I know this is prime time for hunting season, but I will always have a soft spot for trout fishing. I talked my hunting buddy into taking a break from spooking deer to head down to Blue River. Now, I like to fancy myself a good trout fisherman, so I always start off with blades, spinners, etc...
TL;DR
This was the kind of hunt that keeps me outdoors. After getting a late start, thinking my whole hunt was going to be ruined by inclement weather, and missing a chance at a good buck because of a lack of sleep, within seconds I have a deer down and a solid opportunity to screw with my...
I know a rancher who only keeps a .22lr in his ranch truck. At least once a week last year he killed a hog while driving around checking his cattle. Of course, whenever anyone would ask how many shots he'd take he would smile and say the killing shot was the only one that mattered.
I still...
A quick google search says that I have around 932,000 acres of land to share with you yahoos.
Every once in a while I am allowed to hunt a few hundred acres with a buddy. I don't know if I like hunting with him though, he has pulled some nice bucks out of there and every time I go we don't see...
I'm a little far away to take you out and I don't hunt the northeast part of the state, but the best advice I can give you is don't spend too much money on buying gear. Camo, firearm/bow, a sharp knife, and a rope to drag the deer with are about all you really need. Snacks, water, and a...
I always buy a 100 count box of either federal or winchester shells at walmart (#7.5 or #8, whichever they have) for ~$25-28 and that is usually enough. :gun1:
My apt in OKC has dozens of them all around on the power lines!
Don't think too much of it though. They were sitting on those same lines in June and will still be there come January.
On my way home from work I drove a little too fast through a "puddle" because I was sick of slowing down to go through them. I was almost home. I splashed enough water up that it got in my distributor and my truck died. I just barely managed to coast it to a spot I could park. A half hour of...
I buy one antlered and one antlerless tag for rifle season every year before I go out specifically to avoid that problem. The extra tag is a drop in the bucket compared to gas to drive to where I hunt and other expenses.
I'll be getting off work and going to bed. Since I hunt public lands I like to get out in the middle of the week when there are fewer people walking through my shooting lanes.
But then you would be in possession of a game fish that has had its head or tail removed while actively engaged in fishing... I have been looking for a definitive answer on how this new regulation works and I can't figure it out.
Another recommendation for Phil's in El Reno. I'very never used them for repairs, but I buy parts and oil from them regularly. Good people with more knowledge and reference manuals than I have seen anywhere else. Once my buddy and I stopped by to see if they had any screws to help us fix the...
The only trapping I have done is to rid my buddy's place of skunks. 13 skunks in two weeks one summer. It started out as a task to be done but ended up being a fun two weeks. We retell those stories every time we get together and start drinking.
