Any yall had success with cast loads in a 6.5?
The 6.5 Henry lever gun caught my eye and thought I'd ask about results people might've had besides high power jacketed loads. Like sure it'll kill big stuff but it's the stew pot critters that count!
:)
We've moved a thousand miles north.
Now the deer drink from the urn by the back steps and the wife argues with them over eating her flowers.
Might should get her a paint ball gun for Christmas.
Sometimes you can find "Mausers" that were rebarreled to 7.62x51 in the 1980's.
And some of those .310 groove diameter and 10" twist.
For cheap too because nobody could hit doodly with .308 factory ammo!:woot:
Being a cast shooter, belling and then straightening out is what I do. RCBS dies working without problem. The mold is adjusted to make the front band engrave, centering on the rifling. Straightening out takes the case mouth right to the bullet. Bullets don't move in the cases when being driven...
In the for what it's worth dept...
Early 80's I used a Lyman #358345, 115 grain SWC mold, for a polygonal bore .380.
Never failed to feed. Was a can bouncing accurate shooter.
Got loads put together but other stuff to take care of.
And remember the 240 grain old black powder .40 caliber mold, #403169?
Yep, I'm gonna paper patch it.
Well, think a moment about how long "served in combat" and "politician" have pretty much been uncommon (as in mutually exclusive).
While we're at it let me throw another one at you.
Do you want starting wars to be in the hands of people who haven't fought?
Do you want politics in the hands of...
That agreement made with Arabia during Nixon's presidency, is it done now?
I don't think so.
Matter of fact I suspect that the plan to end it has been derailed by the current president.
Don't know that for fact but it sho' is looking that way.
I had an awesomely accurate South American '92 in 1980-81 but it kept trying to disassemble itself.
And one time shooting jack rabbits in Utah the extractor just came up and out.
These days my big brother has had an Italian '73 (24" barrel 45 Colt) for a few years that he dearly loves. Can't...
Yeah, scope impinging upon the charging handle pull really is a bother.
You'd think somebody would have an after market big to one side pull handle.
They got after market for everything else!
