Window screen held in place by magnets is the solution. I have been doing this for years on my condensing unit since my neighbor to the south decided to plant cotton wood trees in his backyard.

Fender mounted starter solenoid had an open coil.
They had replaced the battery and it had 13v.
You could roll on the ignition switch and 13v was hitting the post on the starter solenoid but it would not close. Coil check read infinity so we gambled at that point and took possession of it...

Notice the algae growing on the north side of the body and tires. It had been sitting for about a year.
Owner said they had been attempting to get it running but could not.
We took it and had it running in about ten minutes.
It’s got an injected 351 and it’s a tire burner...

It’s in line for motor and trans rebuild.
It’s at about 400,000 mi.
Rear differential is built, front end complete rebuild and now it’s everything else.

It was an unbelievable mess when I got it but it only had 104,000 miles on it.
Just pulled and resealed the intake manifold and changed the original valve cover gaskets.
My son and I do these together.
We’re now on a 91 ford f150. I’ll get some pics of it up...
I purchase old used trucks that need work and work them over. Keep a few years and buy another. I enjoy working on old trucks and my problem is I don’t want to let them go later..
