Anyone know anything about the police chase on I-244 about noon today in Tulsa?
As I was coming in to work today about 12:10 on I-244 about the time I came to the HWY69 interchange I noticed a huge line of police cars and SUVs, probably about 40 of them. Yes I'm serious there were at least 40...
I have a 2010 Tacoma, double cab, V6 auto, 4WD, with Off road and tow package. Bought it almost new in December of 2011 with just over 10,000 miles on it. Just rolled past 170,500 miles and its been great. Avg MPG with the ****** summer gas is about 19.5. winter gas will go up to 20.5-21mpg. I...
We were asleep IN bed and it woke us up in southern Mayes county. I thought it was a big truck driving by at first, but much more powerful and longer lasting. Daughter was kind of scared.
Even my mother-in-law who can sleep through an F5 tornado woke up.
We felt it good out in Mayes County. From my FB friends posting it was felt from Tahlequah to Tulsa to OKC. A few reporting minor damage even.
I'm guessing close to a 6.
So, which one of our moron politicians is talking about getting our schools into the top 10 of schools across the nation? Does anybody have a plan to accomplish that? Or are we going to be content to move from 50th place to 49th place?
In this thread we find out who went to school in Oklahoma, and who learned how to count.
In other news, the Oklahoma Legislature got right to work on fixing the state budget by making it a felony to perform an abortion.
I know that all politicians are inherently stupid, but ours really are...
August: Osage County was a low budget film. But they were on a full union contract and were paying between $27 and $35 per hour for local crew depending on the position. And they filmed for almost 2 months.
This is a no budget independant film with a production schedule of 2 weeks. So it's not...
Oh good. We can lay off ALL of the school superintendents for the whole state. Now our budget deficit is only $1,244,000,000.
Who cares? It's money better spent than the salaries of our legislators and governor, who don't deserve to even be making minimum wage.
Our elected officials are the ones that build and approve the budgets. They are the ones who pass laws that incentivize certain industries and approve large infrastructure projects. They are the ones who set the tax rates and expenditures and give their buddies tax breaks and no bid contracts in...
Just like our roads and bridges; teachers, superintendents and school districts didn't cause this budget problem. Our dumb as dirt legislature and moron governor did. And THEY should be the ones to take the ass beating to fix it.
Until our elected leaders can actually accomplish something worthwhile, they shouldn't get paid a single dime, and all of their staff should be laid off.
We have the 17th highest paid state legislators in the country, and the lowest paid teachers in the country. No legislator is worth getting...
Why stop there? why not just have 1 superintendent for the whole state? Or better yet, why not just have 1 superintendent for all of the schools in the entire country? and we can pay them minimum wage (since it will soon be $15 per hour it should be a pretty good wage).
I thought conservatives...
Not a single one of our elected leaders in the state, at any level, are worth even paying the current minimum wage to. They are, without exception, all total and complete imbeciles. Everyone that I have met are actually, totally and completely illiterate. That's why they always travel with some...
